The A.I. Centre is where all the action happens during the breeding season.  It can start from as early as February and continue until August.  We offer a fantastic facility for your mare, where you can bring your mare to our stud and we will tend to her needs, making sure she is covered at the precise time, and ovulated before she goes home again.  We also provide a service for keeping the mare until she is scanned in foal. This can only be for a limited number of mares.

 We also send semen out to your own vets, if you prefer to not travel your mare. This service is very popular, becoming more so every season.  We dispatch the semen via Courier, or Swift Post and it will be delivered to the address given within 24 hours. All you hace to do is organise  a time with your own vet and post the box back to the stud when finished. 

Here are a few tips on how to order Semen:

1. Call the stud office in advance and check that semen from your choice of stallion is available.

2. Send your details with a cheque made out to ‘Lissava Stud’ and copy of your mare’s pedigree to Lissava Stud, Cahir, Co. Tipperary, Ireland or give credit card details as a booking reference.

3. Once the cheque has cleared we will arrange for the semen to be delivered to the delivery address. We therefore recommend payment at least 1 week prior to you requiring it.

4. We will do our utmost to have the semen with you when you require it but please remember that stallions are animal and not machines – on a rare occasion they do not wish to perform! Nor can we be responsible for adverse weather conditions affecting delivery. Obviously we will always try to do all we can to get your mare in foal.

5. Please note that we do not insure semen. Although we have not had a problem to date you should be aware that once semen has been distributed it is no longer covered by us.

6. Chilled semen must be ordered by 9.30am for delivery the following day. Please order on the designated number + 353 52 7443633 or + 353 86 2650772 . If you reach an answer machine please leave a message, including your telephone number and we will call you back to confirm. If we do not confirm your call please call again to be certain we have got your message. If you are ordering  within 24 hourse notice, please have a credit card ready as we have to be paid first.
