JACK OF DIAMONDS has our famous old Irish pedigree that we thought we would never have the opportunity to bring back into our bloodlines again. JACK OF DIAMONDS is by the legendary sire, IRCO MENA, who is the leading sire of showjumpers in Sweden. Now deceased, he still considered the Number 1 Sire. IRCO MENA is by IRCO MARCO out of the dam BALLYMENA PARK who in turn is by our famous thoroughbred MENELEK xx, and then relates back to BATTLEBURN and KING OF SPADES. BATTLEBURN was the sire of our Irish showjumping legend BOOMERANG, who won the Hickstead Derby 4 times in a row with rider Eddie Macken. MENELEK xx was a half brother to BAHRAIN xx.

JACK OF DIAMONDS sire IRCO MENA was an International Grand Prix and World Cup Showjumper ridden by Royne Zetterman for Sweden. He represented Sweden on Nations Cup teams on numerous occasions together with his full sister MARCOVILLE. They both competed on the Nations Cup team together when Sweden won the Nations Cup for the first time in 45 years. The second time they went on the team together, they repeated the victory!

There are numerous sires and International Showjumpers by IRCO MENA including; DUTCH TREAT (bred in Ireland), LARS IRCO G, FIRST CHANCE, DREAM ON, BAILEYS, SNOWMAN, SO WHAT, and NICK OF DIAMONDS, who is the only full brother to JACK OF DAIMONDS.

NICK OF DIAMONDS was an International Showjumper in America ridden by Leslie Howard. He won numerous Grand Prixs, Nations Cups and World Cups with Leslie, until a fatal accident ended his career.

JACK OF DIAMONDS' dam SHAMSHONG is by IMPERIOUS out of a KING OF DIAMONDS mare that was sold to Sweden less than 20 years ago from Ireland. She jumped successfully, and went on to breed numerous Grand Prix showjumpers including NICK OF DIAMONDS.

JACK OF DIAMONDS has started his showjumping career in 2007 as a five year old, and is already showing the potential to follow in his brother's footsteps, already jumping double clear 1.30m level towards end of the season. He continued this success in 2008,before stopping to concentrate on the stud season due to the vast number of mares he attracts. He competed for the winter season on the national circuit in Sweden and is back for his busy season of mares already booked in for 2009.

This stallion gives us an opportunity to bring back all those old bloodlines again, combining the bloodlines of top showjumpers like BOOMERANG (Eddie Macken), MILTON (John Whitaker) (grand sire of MILTON was MARCO POLO) and so on. Jack of Diamonds is now fully approved with the Irish Horse Board, after achieving top marks from the Stallion Inspection Panel.

Combined with a fantastic temperament, scope and carefulness, JACK OF DIAMONDS is the answer to put Irish breeding back to the top of the rankings again.
