Lissava Stud stallion progeny acheive top prices in sales despite the economic downturn! - 15/10/09
Despite the slow trade at the youngstock sale this season, 2 foals by Lissava Stallions were selected for the Cavan Elite Sale last week. International showjumper Linda Courtney, purchased both, The Cobra x Cavalier filly foal fetched 4,000 Euro and the Jack of Diamonds x Cruising Colt foal for 5,000 Euro. These were in top five highest prices of the week. |

CONTADOR PLACED IN 4 YEAR OLD CAVAN CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS - 20/09/09
The Stallion son of Cassini, CONTADOR, competed with tremendous success last week in at the Cavan Indoor Championships, achieving 7th place in the 4 year old Indoor Champions Grand Final. Out of over 100 horses, only 20 were carefully selected by the judges. Contador never put a foot wrong all week, jumping 4 consecutive clear rounds. A fantastic acheivement for such a big horse.

Joe Owens & LVS No Doubt win two Grand Prixs : 22/7/09
Joe & the Cavalier gelding LVS No Doubt won the Munster Grand Prix in Limerick/Clare show, and repeated the performance a few weeks later in Kennedys Show.
It was a fantastic achievement for both, Also placed on both occasions with the stallion Cobra too,and also with the new Cruising stallion Ringfort Cruise.

NATIONS CUP CRUISING STALLION ARRIVES! - 23/5/09
The International stallion son of Cruising 'RINGFORT CRUISE' has arrived to stand at stud for the rest of the 2009 season. A combination of 2 Lissava Stud Stallions proved to be a recipe for a champion when 'Tilly's Chaos' 3 year old colt won the loose jumping in Finland in 2008. By the sire Cobra and the dam was Manhattan x Alme - he combined scope, carefulness and a technique that proved hard to beat! |

Lissava Stud Charity Calendar 2009 - 5/12/08
A Charity Calendar for 2009 is available from Lissava Stud for the christmas season. It is aid of Barrettstown Serious Fun Charity, which is run for children with life threatening illnesses. The proceeds from the calendar will be put towards horse riding for the children in Barretstown. Calendars are available from next week and can be booked by credit card or post a cheque to Lissava Stud. The price is €10.00 + €2.00 posting & packing. They will also be for sale at local shops, tack shops, feed merchants, vet clinics, etc. List will be posted up on website in a few days time. A very worthy cause....

Fresh Semen is available from all Lissava Stud Stallions every day at Chestnut Tree Stables, Athenry, Co. Galway during the stud season. Chestnut Tree Stables provides A.I. facilities on site for your mare with fully qualified veterinary surgeon, Ms. Tina Roche. MVB. This is to provide a nearer facility for all breeders in Connaught and Ulster, to give mare owners a choice in case they did not want to travel all the way to Lissava Stud, as they can bring their mare to Chestnut Tree Stables where they will receive ultimate care & attention. Foals by Lissava Stallions sold well at Goresbridge Sales - 20/10/08
Despite the current economic downfall that has affected all horse sales everywhere, the foals from the stallions at Lissava sold extremely well last week. Iroko colt foal out of Ballinvella x Clover Hill mare was sold for 5,100 Euro, Jack of Diamonds colt foal out of Cavalier Royale mare was sold for 4,000 Euro and Waldo Van Dungen colt foal out of Paris Lights mare was sold for 4,000 Euro. Wising their new owners luck with them in the future. |

Iroko foal selected for Elite Foal Auction in Cavan - 24/9/08

Lissava Stud Stallions competing in England next week - 2/08/08
Vancouver, Waldo Van Dungen & Necker Platiere are competing at Addington Manor Young Horse Championships in England next week 5th to 8th August.
Addington Manor show is clashing with RDS next week, but Vancouver & Waldo Van Dungen were unable to participate in the RDS due to the restrictions in place against foreign bred horses. Joe Owens is competing them all, and we wish them success in England. |

Cobra progeny already showing tremendous promise - 13/7/08
Conrad De La Vie, a 3 year old stallion (Cobra x Pachat II) has been selected for the Elite Fences Auction in France 2008.
Conrad de la Vie is a son of Kinette van de Heffinck. Kinette is the mother of Quel Homme van de Heffinck, the top-horse of Rene Tebbel. Kinette is also the mother of Souvenir van de Heffinck, international horse under the saddle of Wilm Vereir and mother of the approved stallion Bentley.
