Russel is a fully approved Hanoverian stallion from the Holstein Stamm line 4232. He has competed on numerous Nations Cup Teams, jumped on the 2006 World Championship team in Aachen and has won many classes including Puissance, Grand Prix and Six Bar. Winner WEF Open Challenge CSI***** Wellington, Florida. 2nd King George V Gold Cup 2004 and 2005. Member of Samsung Super League winning team at Hickstead. He combines great temperament with huge scope and good looks. His winnings up to 2006 are £166,169. Joint winner of 6 Bar Rome - June 2007.
Russel is by Corofino who is by Corrado. Corofino was a successful Holsteiner sire, performing successfully for Italy. At his stallion performance test in 1992 at Medingen he scored 10 for his jumping ability. In 1994 he competed in the finals of the Federal Showjumping Championships in Warendorf and in 1999 he was ranked No 1 stallion in Pferd & Sport magazine as producer of jumping horses. |

Russel's grandsire, Corrado, by the outstanding Cor de la Bryére, is currently the top ranked international showjumping performer. He gained 154 for showjumping in his performance test and his showjumping BLUP of 141. Total progeny winnings to date come to over £2,350,000 and he has so far has sired 13 international Showjumpers include Indorado, Clinton, Crazy Boy and Casima.
Russel’s dam Adele is by Lincoln, who was by legendary sire Landgraf. Lincoln has produced 5 graded sons as well as international show jumper Leonidas and international dressage horse Lauser. Before that Lincoln was a successful dual purpose sire in Germany with a show jumping BLUP of 127. His progeny have winnings of over £110,000 Sterling.
Russel is a half brother to Coupe De Cour who is currently competing at World Cup level with Ludger Beerbaum.
Russel has only approximately twenty five young stock on the ground as he has been concentrating on his jumping career up to Olympics 2008. The oldest is a 7 year old called UNLIMITED, and this horse was 2nd in the six year old championships on the Spanish Sunshine Tour in 2007, out of 123 copmetitiors, and and placed every other day in competition. The rider was James Patterson Robinson. This horse has since been sold to Canada and went on to be placed in Spruce Meadows in the young horse championships 2008, with rider Gail Greenough. Russel also has super 5 and 6 year olds currently competing in England. The Hales family has some beautiful progeny by Russel which they are producing for the future on the showjumping circuit. |

Russel is the only showjumping stallion to stand in Ireland that has competed in the recent 2008 Olympic Games, where he competed for Great Britain under International Rider Nick Skelton.
This versatile stallion, has won at every level of showjumping, Grand Prix, Nations Cups, European Championships, World Championships, Puissance, Six Bars, Speed Classes, and of course the renowned OLYMPICS. This stallion, without doubt, is the one to breed us champions!
